Happy 3 Month Birthday!

Patrick turned 3 months old today and I can hardly believe how much he has grown. Just today, with daddy watching, Patrick rolled over from his stomach to his back! He is gooing and gaaing and bringing us so much joy each day. Happy birthday little man. . .

Friends, Farewells & Fajitas

Bidding a dear friend goodbye is somehow made a little easier over a frozen margarita and an endless bowl of chips and salsa. Patrick and I had our final playdate today at Papitos with Tresa and Biven (born 3 weeks before Patrick). Tresa is one of those kindred spirit types who always seems to get me, and she will be sorely missed (but not forgotten!!!). Perhaps our next playdate will in some Pennsylvania snow???

One Box Forward, Two Back

I'd like to say that we made a lot of progress in the packing department this past weekend, but Patrick seemed to want to be entertained and held most of Saturday and Sunday. Oh well- playing with him is more fun than packing. Also, it is hard to be frustrated when he continues to sleep through the night. No more exhaustion for me (at least right now), just in time to be able to enjoy catching up with family and friends back in Pittsburgh!

Patrick vs. Krusty the Clown

Tonight, Tom compared Patrick's hair to the same style sported by Krusty the Clown from the Simpsons. Oddly, he appears to be right.

How Fast Does This Thing Go???

Yesterday UPS delivered a rather large box to our front door addressed to Patrick. Inside we found the cutest rocking horse any little boy could ever want. Here are some shots of Patrick's first ride. He wasn't so sure at first, but I think he will be a natural...

If Only We Could Take Them With Us...

This past Sunday, our fabulous neighbors threw Tom and I a farewell snackfest- I think they thought that if I ate enough, I would not be able to fit back out their front door and would ultimately be unable to move back to Pennsylvania. While their evil plan was almost a success thanks in large part to Angela's gooey cake and Anna's seven layer dip, Tom was able to roll me across the street after the festivities ended. As if having us over were not enough, they presented Tom and I with some beautiful pottery made from Mississippi clay. I will be so sad to leave all my new friends...Thanks girls for everything!

Pictured are all the girls (minus Emily, Angela's little girl who was napping): Me, Anna, Jaime with her daughter Marley, and Angela.

You Win Some, You Lose Some

Over the past weeks since I gave birth, I have put on a brave face and began the tedious process of figuring out what clothes and shoes I will fit into again, and which ones will need to go to nice new homes. Honestly, I am not having the best of luck. I know it has been only 2 1/2 months, but I have come to terms with the fact that my feet are not going to shrink back to their original size 8. 8 1/2 just seems big to me, but that is what I now have to work with, and I AM grateful my ankles are skinny. I am not expecting any sympathy, particularly from those friends (I won't name names) who are secretly rejoicing that I am now an 8 1/2 just so they can inherit my favorite bronze d'orsay heels and Jcrew Italian leather boots. Just wipe off the tear stains before you wear them for the first time.

On a positive note, I can now zip up one of my favorite sundresses. I still can't wear it because I can't breathe with it zipped up, but baby steps...
