Flying the Friendly Skies

Patrick endured his first flight flawlessly on March 15th-he and I flew solo to visit Patrick's godparents, Elizabeth and Matthew, in Charlotte, NC. Daddy worked :(

Patrick never cried, but did attempt to engage everyone on the flight in his play. Even the pilots couldn't help loving our little guy and he was given an honorary seat in the cockpit-don't worry, we were already at the gate :)

The Phasing Out of Mommy

Soon, the little guy won't even need me :(  Patrick also tried eggs for the first time today, so I am just hoping that he doesn't break out into hives just before we leave for vacation.  We are heading to Florida for a few days, but I am somewhat disappointed by the fact that it will actually be warmer in Pittsburgh Friday than where we will be in Florida. 

Shhh...We're hunting Wabbit

I am not sure if it was the blank empty stare of this souless rabbit or the large ears, but Patrick loved the Easter Bunny. Sorry Santa. Also, don't judge me, but my kid was sick when I dragged him out to a public space filled with other kids for this photo op. It was his first Easter after all.

Oh, and if you think that this bunny looks like it has seen better days, that is because it is the FREE Easter Bunny! Weird looking rabbit=no line.

Out Like a Lamb

If the nursery rhyme is correct, the lion is gone! We had a beautiful 70 degree day which we took full advantage of-Patrick tried out his swing for the first time. We wish Daddy could have been here though...

The Big Snow, February 2010

Dear Loyal Blog Followers (all four of you),

I apologize for the unexplained absence- over the course of several months, our computer had been plotting it's own death and making my blog attempts an exercise in hair pulling and cursing. I finally laid my foot down and held the blog hostage until I received a new laptop. My plan has worked!

And Today-SUNSHINE!

I really do feel like we have been hibernating the entire month of February. We did join all of the other crazies who decided to drive in the great blizzard of 2010 and headed to Seven Springs so Tom could get in some unbelievable skiing the weekend the storm first dumped a gazillion inches. If you check out the shot of Patrick facing the patio door you can see the snow line in the background. I also uneventfully turned #33 mid-month. Not doing so well with my calorie counting, but hopeful that we can start walking outside soon.

My dad had knee replacement surgery on February 8th and has been keeping my sister and I busy to say the least. I think he is healing up fairly well and I am grateful the surgery went smoothly.

And coming up? Patrick and I head to Charlotte, NC to visit our dear friends Elizabeth and Matt, and then at the end of the month, a much needed vacation (yes, with baby) to Palm Beach, FL!
