Patrick woke up from an afternoon nap this past Thursday with this hair- I couldn't resist posting as we have all had similar experiences.

First Steps!

Out of the blue our little guy took his first steps (about 4)- I could hardly believe it. He was holding onto the living room coffee table when he spotted his favorite radio flyer push wagon across the room- he started shaking from excitement and headed towards the wagon without realizing he was flying solo. Of course I just spent the last two hours trying to get him to do it again to no avail...

Note from Patrick: Today I tried to eat a bug.

Puppy Dog Tails

My cousin Ali is having her first baby VERY soon-her due date is just around the corner. Ali's mom, dad and sister Brittney threw her a shower at my house at the end of February which gave me the opportunity to decorate the house in boy theme- I LOVE party themes. I can't say I can take credit for the clothesline garland-I copied that from another shower, but I did come up with the mantel decorations that included a cute sonogram photo of Baby Devon.

I have THE BEST husband who spent the morning shoveling a path through snow behind our house so that guests wouldn't have to trudge through the foot that still hadn't melted between the street and our back door. He said it was the first time he ever shoveled grass. He also was my table and chairs guy, and my ice guy. I don't blame him for fleeing the scene once the number of women in the house hit over five.

Ali looked beautiful- she is all belly and the cutest thing. Devon is going to be one well clothed baby and I think she is now set to go-you can come out anytime now baby!

Best Buddies

Back in March, my nephew Jack came over on a warm sunny day and was able to play outside with Patrick, who is alway amused by his cousin. I think the love is mutual :)

My sister Karen lives just 10 minutes away and is a huge help with Patrick. Recently I threw out my back and couldn't pick up Patrick for two days- sister to the rescue. We camped out at her house for two full days and returned home each evening when dad arrived home to help with the little guy. I love my sister! Thanks for all your help...

What Happens in Charlotte Stay in Charlotte

Well, everything stays in Charlotte but these adorable photos taken by Patrick's godmother, Elizabeth, whom we FINALLY visited in North Carolina in the middle of March. Elizabeth happens to be a wonderful professional photographer who captured our trip to the park and adventures inside their beautiful house (which Patrick thankfully did not spit-up/throw up in). Elizabeth flew to Mississippi the day I went into labor and was there for Patrick's birth, so she has a very special place in my heart. If you know anyone in the Charlotte area, I highly recommend her! www.elizabethmorrisonphotography.com. In fact, if there is a spectacular photo on my blog, I am sure she took it (The main blog photo of Patrick with the Easter basket is her work as well).

We had so much fun and I really enjoyed Charlotte-it is a neat city. We miss you guys already!

Look Kids-Big Ben.

Patrick completed his first official family vacation in Florida-North Palm Beach to be exact. Perfect weather, adoring grandparents, and the coolest uncle ever added up to a short, but sweet, weekend. Here are just a few of the highlights.

Yes, Patrick loves the ocean waves at his feet.

Yes, he will occasionally throw up all over Tom because he gets so excited on the plane (Luckily mom was three rows back in 31F)

Yes, I had a drink called the Goombay Smash, but I ordered it from a Tiki hut bar, so it was perfectly acceptable.

No, I have not yet unpacked, done laundry, or attempted to get organized. I blame Easter festivities.

Happy Easter

Steps to guarantee a happy Easter:

1.  Return safely from a family vacation to Florida (pictures coming soon!) just before midnight the night prior.

2.  Get 4 hours of sleep, wake sleeping baby, and get to the 7:30 AM mass to avoid the throngs of crying children hopped up on sugar.

3.  Put baby to sleep for a long nap and enjoy a great breakfast with your husband while enjoying the sunshine of a glorious day. 

4.  Be thankful for each day, but especially this one.
